1. Who we are
Welcome to i.Power, a mobile application for monitoring and managing UPS (uninterruptible power supply) devices via cloud services and Bluetooth. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use i.Power.
By creating an account or using i.Power, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Scope of this Policy
This Policy applies to the i.Power mobile application and related cloud services used to:
- Register and sign in to an account
- Bind, monitor, control, and configure UPS devices online
- Discover and control UPS devices offline over Bluetooth
- Receive device-related email notifications and manage purchase / warranty records
3. Information we collect and why
“Personal data” means information that identifies you alone or together with other information. What we collect depends on how you use i.Power.
3.1 Account and authentication data
- Username, email address, password — to create and secure your account, sign in, reset password, and change email
- Email verification codes — for registration, login, password reset, and account deletion
- Optional profile fields (e.g. nickname) — if you provide them in account settings
- Session tokens stored on your device — to keep you signed in
3.2 Device binding and UPS operational data
- Device identifiers (e.g. serial number / device ID, alias, model, bind status)
- Telemetry and status (e.g. online/offline, measurements, events/faults, settings, schedules, load plans)
- Control and configuration commands you send through the App
Purpose: provide remote monitoring, control, settings, scheduling, logging, and support services for your UPS.
3.3 Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi provisioning, and offline use
- Nearby Bluetooth device discovery results while scanning/connecting to your UPS
- Wi‑Fi SSID and password you enter during BLE provisioning — used to configure the device’s network connection; the App may temporarily cache credentials on your device for convenience during binding
- Offline monitoring and control data exchanged locally over Bluetooth (may not require a cloud account for limited guest/monitor features)
Purpose: bind devices, enable local offline control, and complete network setup.
3.4 Camera (QR code scanning)
- We request camera access only to scan the QR code on your UPS for device binding.
- We do not use the camera for unrelated photography, advertising, or social features.
3.5 Location permission (Bluetooth assistance)
- On some platforms (especially Android), approximate/precise location permission while using the App may be required by the OS to scan for Bluetooth devices.
- i.Power does not use this permission to continuously track your movements or to sell location data.
3.6 Notifications and purchase / warranty information
- Notification emails (your account email and optional additional addresses you configure) for device events/faults
- Purchase and warranty-related records you enter (e.g. purchase dates, battery lifecycle reminders and optional reminder emails)
3.7 Technical and diagnostic data
- App version, device OS type/version, language, time zone, and request metadata needed for API security and compatibility
- Crash or error information necessary to keep the service reliable (if collected by our backend logs)
3.8 What we do not collect for advertising
- i.Power is not an advertising product. We do not use IDFA/AAID for cross-app advertising tracking.
- We do not sell your personal data.
4. Legal bases / consent
Depending on applicable law, we process data based on:
- Performance of the contract to provide i.Power services you request
- Your consent (e.g. optional notification emails, permission grants for camera/Bluetooth/location)
- Legitimate interests in securing accounts, preventing abuse, and improving reliability
- Compliance with legal obligations
5. How we use cookies and similar technologies
On websites related to our services, we may use cookies or similar storage to keep sessions working. In the mobile App, we use local storage (e.g. login token, preferences, temporary binding helpers) for the same operational purposes — not for third-party advertising.
6. How we share information
We may disclose personal data only in these situations:
- With your instruction or explicit consent (e.g. device sharing features you initiate)
- Service providers who process data for us (cloud hosting, email delivery) under confidentiality and security obligations, only for providing i.Power
- Legal requirements — where required by law, regulation, litigation/arbitration, or competent authorities
- Business transfers — if we undergo a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, data may be transferred under equivalent protections, with notice where required
7. International processing
Your information may be processed on servers located in regions where we or our service providers operate. We take measures consistent with applicable law to protect data during transfer and storage.
8. Data retention
- Account data is retained while your account remains active.
- Device telemetry and configuration history are retained as needed to provide monitoring, history, logs, and support.
- After you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal account data and unbind devices according to our deletion process, except where retention is required by law or for security/dispute resolution for a limited period.
9. Security
We take the security of your personal data seriously. We use technical and organizational measures (such as encrypted transmission where supported, access controls, and authentication) to help prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please protect your password and device.
10. Your rights and choices
- Access / update account information in the App (e.g. email, password)
- Manage device bindings (bind, unbind, rename/alias)
- Manage notification preferences and additional notification emails
- Withdraw permissions in system settings (camera, Bluetooth, location); some features may stop working
- Delete Account: Me → Delete Account. We send an email verification code; after confirmation, the account is permanently deleted and devices are unbound. This cannot be undone.
- Sign out to clear local session data on the device
If applicable law grants additional rights (access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, objection), contact us using the details below.
11. Children’s privacy
i.Power is intended for adults and organizational users managing UPS equipment. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. Third-party links and OS services
The App may interact with operating-system services (camera, Bluetooth, network). Those services are governed by Apple / Google policies and your device settings. This Policy does not cover unaffiliated third-party websites or apps.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When material changes occur, we will notify you by appropriate means (for example, in-App notice or updating the effective date on this page). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy where permitted by law.
14. Contact Us
We have designated a person in charge of personal information protection. You may contact us by email, and we will handle your request within the time required by applicable laws and regulations.
If you are not satisfied with our response—especially where our personal information processing has harmed your lawful rights and interests—you may seek resolution through external channels, such as filing a lawsuit with a court of competent jurisdiction, or lodging a complaint with an industry self-regulatory association or a relevant government authority. You may also contact us for information about applicable complaint channels that may be available to you.
